Reviewed by James Puckett Yakov G. Chernikov (1889–1951), was a Russian artist, designer, and architect learned in classical and modern styles. As a draftsman he was on par with Piranesi and Rembrandt. James Puckett reviews this book, and he’s right, an edition of 500 should prove waaaayyyyy too small. I’m lovin’ the grids and hand done examples of the russian lettering.

This morning, the New York Times Arts and Design section, brought to my attention by Design Observer, published an article (here) on the new decision by AOL to change it’s representative logo and company name from AOL to Aol. Let me put that in a sentence: the new Aol. will be active on Thursday’s opening stock exchange bell. Notice the name, it is not a mistake in punctuation…...
