In 1727 a man named Sir Thomas Parkyns authored a book which stands as one of the earliest known documentations of boxing. The Inn-Play or Cornish-Hugg Wrestler. The book was printed by William Ayscough, the first Printer in Nottingham. Ayscough established his printing business in Nottingham in 1710, and closed in 1715 due to lack of business. The Book remains as one of the rarest pieces of printed pieces in England, and is currently on sale for about $1,850. Personally, I think these book plates are quite nice, especially those eszetts and ampersands.  Also, take a minute to read what it actually says, the content is pretty badass.
